Unfortunately, lately our environment has become toxic and these toxins are finding its way into our food. That’s why we should be careful what we buy in order to stay clear of them.
Here are the basics of what you need to know and what do they mean
1. The 4 digits code starting with the number 3 or 4 – there is pesticide spraying
- The stickers that begin with the numbers 3 or 4 and have a total of four numbers are showing us that the products was cultivated by factory farm, it is probably possible that they used artificial fertilizers.. This means that this product was sprayed with chemical pesticides. Before you consume, wash them well.
2. The product has 5 numbers starting with 9 – ORGANIC
If there are five numbers in the code, and the code begins with number 9 the product is organic. The last numbers of the code indicate what kind of vegetable or fruit in question. For example all bananas are marked with the code 4011 and the organic organic banana would be 94011
